Shamouti, also known as Jaffa Orange, is a classic Moroccan orange variety prized for its sweet,
juicy, and seedless fruit. Cultivated mainly for fresh consumption and export, it is one of
Morocco’s traditional orange varieties, known for its bright orange color, smooth peel, and long
shelf life.

• Fruit shape: Oblong to slightly oval
• Size : Medium to large
• Peel color: Bright orange, smooth, thick and easy to peel
• Flesh: Sweet, juicy, mostly seedless

Region of Cultivation :
• Mainly grown in Gharb, Haouz, and Tadla regions
• Suited for lowland irrigated citrus orchards
Soil Requirements:
• Prefers deep, well-drained sandy-loam or alluvial soils
• Sensitive to waterlogging
• Optimal pH : 6.0–7.5
